Beautiful People Can Be Incredibly Smart…

Someone very smart posted a blog about awkwardness and frustration that we cannot always reach out to each other because of misunderstandings and the threat of leaving the wrong impression.

All I have to say is that people in dire need of comfort will never turn away a concerned thought…or hand for that matter. Human contact is a powerful thing…it can mend even the most broken hearts.

I should also congratulate said “Smart Someone” for something that happened this weekend. I really hope that things work out this time and that everyone comes out happy in the end. That’s my most sincere wish. :-)

Perhaps R is right, I might consider a trip out to California for a little TLC. P has been asking me to come, and I could really use a big hug and the chance to just cry it out.

Brio, you are correct that my friends are still here; they are just currently occupied with both great and not-so-great things going on in their own lives. They have enough to worry about without my problems.

Perhaps the best thing for me to do is revel in their happiness until whatever this is goes away.

Please just let it go away. It really hurts.

I know that moving this last weekend isn't the only thing stinging you right now, I just wish you had someone you could really open up to that won't try to "fix it" or tell you what you should be doing different. It sounds like you just need to have someone to lean on right now.

I'm so sorry that no one is stepping up. Just try to ride it out, you will find people who will be there...without you having to ask too.

It looks like a few people responded after you said something, but why did it have to take them that long?

4 out of 5 smart people also recommend ice cream for all kinds of ills! If a *fellow* smart person who isnt feeling at the top of their game at the moment wanted to grab some on wed or thurs, I bet that could be arranged...

Also, Sunday is whitewater rafting in WV.. its going to be a full load of my own IT geek family, but its sure to be a good time. B is trying to arrange to come as well... so the invite is openly extended

Suddenly your blog is very popular…

I have to agree with the first Anonymous comment; why haven’t any of your “friends” noticed a shift in your mood?

It seems to me that friends should notice those things immediately.

I remember something happening several years back when your friend R went through something very terrible, and you stood by her through the entire thing…remember how many of your friends here jumped in and helped you cope through it too? You never had to ask. We just knew you needed help or you were going to break down.

I guess we don’t know what we have until we’re missing it.

I ALSO AM FORCED TO AGREE WITH THE SECOND ANONYMOUS COMMENT, ICE CREAM CAN BE A CURE ALL! WHITE WATER RAFTING SOUNDS LIKE SOMETHING UP YOUR ALLEY TOO…YOU SHOULD CONSIDER ANYTHING THAT WILL TAKE YOUR MIND OFF LIFE.

I know you’ve been up very late, call me if you need anything.

Dear “Smart” person,

I’d love ice cream...a more wonderful Band Aid I could not imagine.

Sincere attempts to console those who may have come across a little brazen (put nicely) in the past really shows people’s true colors…you are one to be reckoned with.

:-)

R and S; when my friends here are good they are *really good*...everyone has their days.

I'm sure that they are...I'm just saying that sometimes you need your friends even when they aren't "good". - RM
